On Thursday 22 November 2012, stationery-and-wrap specialty shop WRAPPLE opened on Shibuya PARCO Part1 4F (Udagawa-cho 15-1). Shibuya Channel filed it as a place of invention and discovery — an apple mark at the escalators, then roughly 150㎡ of floor packed with about 8,000 wrapping papers, ribbons, craft tools, stationery, and artificial flowers.
What the floor was for
Selection logic, staff said, was combinatorial: put this next to that and a new gift or DIY idea appears. France-born Décopatch paper-and-paste kits sat beside masking tapes and ribbon walls. A character counter hosted Wrapple-san (@wrapple_jp); when workshops were idle, customers could wrap purchases on site with store stock.
Hours listed: 10:00–21:00. Phone (historical): 03-5428-8284. Site: wrapple.jp / Tumblr workshop notes.
Christmas season made the pitch timely — more gifts to wrap, more reason to stand still and invent combinations by hand.
Why it belonged on the Channel
PARCO Part1 sits inside the Udagawa retail stack that drains straight into scramble footfall. A wrapping atelier on 4F is the same vertical shopping energy you can watch spill onto the street via the Shibuya Crossing live camera.
Gift-run budgets still add up — set a trip ceiling with average trip to Japan cost.
PARCO floors and tenants change; treat 2012 WRAPPLE details as historical.
