From 7–13 September 2009, Audi Japan staged German artist Jårg Geismar’s exhibition COME CLOSER — life inside the car at Audi Forum Tokyo (the Iceberg, Harajuku). Hours ran 10:00–20:00; admission was free.
Geismar’s brief was the everyday emotional life of the automobile — openness, romance, shared space, responsibility, heightened sensation — rendered through cars, panels, and video rather than a conventional white-cube hang.
Performance night
On 11 September 2009 the run included a live “Life inside the car” performance with a large cast of performers and vehicles — contemporary coverage and Geismar’s own project diary treated that night as the public peak of the Tokyo stop.
Why it sat on the Shibuya Channel map
